This animation work is a cannibalism story of a woman consuming male bodies. ‘Fresh Meat’  or ‘ Little Fresh Meat (小鲜肉）’ is a Chinese Internet buzzword to describe handsome young men which is mostly used to refer to pop stars. With many negative criticism about this thread of pop culture, some people, however, points out it is also an empowerment for women. 

Fresh Meat is my response to the contemporary rising feminism trend in China. The roles of women and men are reversed in this work. The humor applied in this work is a woman’s privilege to speak about gender inequality in nowadays China.

In this video, I also use different materials to bring texture to the scenes. For instance, there different materials: wax, faux fur and felt, are used to make human flesh in different dishes. 

The humanoid waiter character is designed after my dog: Pipi.
