Who Killed Didi ( A Murder Mystery Game )
2024
This interactive theatre piece took place at Papermoon Puppet Theatre, Yogyakarta, Indonesia - as a part of my residency program at Papermoon. It belongs to the ongoing Super Power series.
Super Power is a developing project set in a fictional world. The project includes puppet animation, texts, objects, sculptures, and interactive theater performances. In this parallel world, animals have become dominant, and human fat supplies 99% of the energy. The project talks about the inevitable consumption of human and exhaustions in modern life. By reversing the positions of humans and animals, this project explores power dynamics. Materials and methods of making are also key threads in the project.
The main script of this series features a panda working at Super Power company over 24 hours. During these 24 hours, the panda commits one unconventional act beyond daily duties, triggering a chain of subsequent events. Who Killed Didi is a spin-off story from this script, focusing on stories occurring after these 24 hours to the panda.
I am currently working on the animation part of this series, developing characters and texts to enrich this universe.
You are warmly invited to become a ‘new resident’ of Super Power.
Special thanks to Achmad Mirza for taking all photos of this performance :)
